Islamic republic Afghanistan is the land lock country in the center of south Asia. This is the 41th largest country with respect to it area 249,984 sq mi, in the world. Afghanistan bordered with Pakistan in the southeast, Iran in the west, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in the north, and China in the far east. Its capital city is Kabul.

The country natural resources are gold, silver, copper, zinc, semi precious stone and uranium.its main languages are Pashto and Persian and population is 28.1 million in June 2009 and more than 3 million people live outside the country, in Pakistan, Iran. Its state religion is Islam with 80% Sunni Muslim 80%, Shi'a Muslim 19%, other 1%.

Government

Islamic Republic Afghanistan came into existence in 19 August,1919. Afghanistan is governed under the the constitution which was adopted on 4th January, 2004.

The government has main branches that are Executive: President, the head of the state.Legislative: Bicameral National Assembly; Wolesi Jirga (lower house) 249 seats, Meshrano Jirga (upper house) 102 seats.

Judicial contain Supreme court, High Courts and Appeals courts and according to political subdivision there are 34 provinces.

The Soviet war in Afghanistan is almost 10 year conflict. The relation between Afghanistan and soviet Union were tense in October 1979 as Hafizullah Amin denied Soviet Union recommendations on how to stabilize the government. On 24th December, 1979 lage number of soviet Airborne forces started to land in Kabul. They occupied major government, military,and media buildings. The mujaheddin found the sport from other resources like U.S, U.K, Saudia Aribia, Pakistan And Egypt to fight with Soviet forces.

Taliban In Afghanistan

Taliban generally mean student and it is a group of Muslim Islamic movement who governed Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001 until U.S overthrown them from power. Initially the Taliban was a mixture of Mujaheddin fought against the Soviet union, Taliban emerged as a force in Afghan politics in 1994 in the midst of a civil war between forces in northern and southern Afghanistan. Afghanistan is one of the pooest and least developing country of the world and highly dependent on the foreign aid. The Economy of Afghanistan has improved significantly in 2002 because of addition of U.S dollars in international assistance and investments. In June 2006, Afghanistan and the International Monetary Fund agreed on a Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility program for 2006-2009.Afghanistan is also rebuilding its banking infrastructure through the Da Afghanistan National Central Bank.
