Pardah

Depending on family tradition, class rural or urban residence, this norm is usually practiced by women. The most extream Pardah tradition are found in Khyber Pakhtun khawa and Baluchistan were women expected almost never leave their homes except when they marry and never meet unrelated men. They have only very formal relations. But in Punjab and Sindh Gender relations are somewhat relaxed. Generally women wear Burqa and Chader when they leave their homes.

Child marriage

child marriage is is another dark side of women life. Although it is illegal for girls in early teenage under Child Marriages Restraint Act but still can be found in tribal areas and Punjab province. Young girls are forcefully married off to resolve the issues of Land and disputes among Tribes.

Watta Satta and Marriage to Quran

Watta Satta and Marriage to Quran are also very critical issues and having no Islamic Basis. The woman is either forced to marry off with brother's brother-in-law or to Quarn just for the sake of property issues and for the honor of their Families.

Honor Killings

Honor killing is a Murder of a family or clan member by the other family members just to have brought dishonor to to the family. Mostly victims are women who marry against their family wishes, who seek divorce or who have been raped.. It is known as Karo kari in Sindh and Baluchistan.

Dowry

Dowry is a specific amount of money or other things that bride's family has to pay for marriage. Dowry custom has no Islamic basis, Islam does not put any financial burden on father of a girl. The practice of dowry among ignorant Muslims cause violence in society they live. Due to this reason some people neglect girls and prefer boys women chose to terminate their pregnancies when expecting daughters and carry when expecting sons.

Domestic Violence

Domestic violence usually consider as a private matter but it has tendency to become more serious tragedies. In Pakistan according to Human Rights Commission , in 400 cases of domestic violence reported in Punjab, nearly 200 ends with wife's death.on the other hand Traditional practices can be very harmful physically and psychologically.

Sexual Harassment

It is a more common practice to shatter the confidence of women in Pakistan. Even on streets the boys misbehave with girls and use slang language. In workplace Employers abuse their authorities, and sometime career advancement promises just to seek sexual favor from their female coworkers.
