Introduction

Maria B is one of the most prestigious fashion designer from Pakistan, she organized this event with the cooperation of students of Lahore from leading institutes to share the pain we all have today for our country situation. The event is full of hope, passion and mission of sacrifice our country need from its youth today.

Zaid Hamid along with his friends (Ali Azmat, and others from Pakistan Music Industry), are working together to highlight the true ideology of Pakistan and our great leaders Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam. This event is another part of their ongoing campaign to inform and organize the youth of Pakistan to build a better future for Pakistan.

Event Recording

Event was held in Lahore on 8th of November, 2009 and the venue was Alhamra Art Council. Students from PAC, LUMS, NCA, KINNAIRD, UCP, LSE, ICBS, FAST, PSFD, GC, BEACON HOUSE, LGS and other universities attended the lecture of Zaid Hamid. Other participants also included blogger community of Pakistan, PYR (Pakistan Youth Revolution Members) and other youngsters.

Event started with a video presentation to put some light on the history and current situation of the country. After that Ali Azmat and Maria B welcome Zaid Hamid to come and share his views and thoughts with the students.

Summary of Zaid Hamid's Lecture

For those who have language and understanding constraints, we are representing what this guy is saying in this lecture. We are not able to tell everything he said so we can just summarize it.

Firstly he congratulated the people of current time for being in Pakistan and Muslim. He is talking about the prophecy made by the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), that the muslims of our region will win the war against India and Israel. We will be the ones to restore self esteem of Muslims and truly represent who we are and stand for the justice.

Zaid Hamid is explaining the youth of Pakistan the vision of great Allama Muhammad Iqbal and that how much love and passion he has for Islam, our Prophet (PBUH) and the Allah Almighty (SWS). Allama Iqbal told people about Pakistan long time back even before the freedom movement for an independent Muslim state.

Mr. Zaid is warning Pakistanis to stand with the country and do once again what our great leaders did to give freedom to us. We have to give sacrifices and face hardships once again to give strength to our country and take the true position for us.

During the lecture he also went back in the history and reminded how big the Muslim empire was before it crashed and the reasons behind it. Mainly that people from inside were corrupt and they helped the enemies to destroy the Muslim kingdom.

Mr. Zaid is quite sure that India is playing a big role behind all the problems Pakistan is facing today. I think we already know that India is blocking the water coming to Pakistan, funding the extremists in Afghnistan and Balochistan to fight against Pakistan and much more. He is very clear about this aspect that a war is imminent with India.

He is not asking us to become taliban, but to be aware of the situation and our enemies. As no matter who we are ourselves, we surely are under attack from all sides. He is asking the youth to firstly know who we are and our national values and that we should stand for justice which is our right and responsibility at the same time.

Most importantly, Zaid Hamid is giving courage, hope and passion to the people of Pakistan. Atleast he is not like politicians telling us that we have lost it all and its all in the hands of the countries who are giving us aid. If they don't give it to us, we are nothing but a failed state!
